What is the difference between a specialist and a dentist?

Specialists have completed additional training to become qualified as such. These postgraduate qualifications are in addition to their status as dental surgeons, and are required for the General Dental Council (GDC) to register them as specialists. You can check your specialist’s status on the GDC’s register online by checking their GDC number.

Can I be referred to a specialist?

Your dentist can make a referral to see one of our specialists. We strongly believe in a spirit of collaboration and work closely with our referring dentists so we can make sure you get the very best care. Your dentist will be informed every step of the way while you have treatment with us.
